What cheap treatment is there to help close tooth gap?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have been paranoid about my teeth since forever i have recently turned 17 and there is a gap between my teeth at least 1cm or maybe more i don’t know how big it is, because its big enough to bother me and my smile! So anyway i was wondering if you could suggest any kind of solution to my gap? something that won’t cost a lot because i couldn’t afford it. The rest of my teeth are perfectly straight. I have asked my dentist about this a few times before and last month when i went he said nothing could be done on the NHS for me. He also said there could be the risk of a gap developing somewhere else in my teeth if i got braces 😐 please help me, thanks.,

Q.
Hello , well to get straight to the point iv actually had braces for about 2 and half years and are currently wearing retainers both bottom and top which can be removed. Now all my treatements from the orthodontic has been completed and he has told me that i am fully incharge of what i may do with my teeth i currently still wear them for the whole day.the only problem is i dont know as to when i can stop wearing them becuase they’ll end up bending again and its only one tooth at the front now as regards to cosmetic dentistry would it be possible to get that particular tooth straightened ?,

I need braces but had a bad prior experience with them – advice?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I once had braces but when I came to the stage where I was to wear a retainer, my orthadontist kept fitting my retainer wrong and once chipped my tooth! time after time i cpomplained that i couldnt wear what he was giving me and nothing was done. Im 20 now and I am so unhappy with my smile, I need a brace again, could you give me some information on prices and where is best to go? Most appriciated,

I am happy with results of braces but what can I do?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Q.
hope all is well. i am 21 and approaching the end of my orthodontic treatment. i got my braces in a few months before my 18th birthday. i always had straight teeth and never really felt i need braces, until my dentist told me i would need them due to me having an overbite. i was told i would need to extract 2 teeth from my upper and that the gaps will close with the treatment thus reducing my overbite. (my overbite before treatment was 7mm and now it is 3mm.) now near the end of my treatment, i am not happy with the results at all. firstly, i feel my teeth are much worse of than what they used to be. i also feel that my facial structure and features have also changed. i dont like my new smile and feel my teeth have moved too far back. my lips are much bigger and my profile isnt as good as it used to be. i feel very low and depressed and have lost my confidence. i use to be very happy and full of confidence, always a smile on my face. now doctor, i dont know what to do. does orthodontic treatment really change the shape of your face and your features? (well with the treatment ive had done anyway). and if i wanted to remove the braces and allow my teeth to go back to their normal position, will my features go back to what they used to be and my teeth go back to where they were without any problems? ive spoken to my orthodontist and he’s told me that treatment does not not change any facial features and only surgery can do that. unfortunately, i dont believe him. ive also looked alot on the internet but people seem to give different answers. it would be much appreciated if you could help me and answer the above questions and give me some advice. thank you for your time doctor and look forward to hearing from you soon. kind regards,

What can be done about tooth that has grown higher in gums?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Q.
Dear Sir I have a tooth growing at the top of my mouth however there is not enough room due to there being teeth either side it and therefore has remained above the two teeth that are on the correct level. The tooth in question has grown from higher in the gum than my tooth line and I was wondering what the correct treatment for that tooth would be? Should it be removed there would be a gap however i would like to treat this if possible. It appears to be a molar tooth With thanks,
