Need a reasonable and honest dentist

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have had problems with mt teeth for many years after being on stroids as a child. In April I had my entire top set of teeth taken out in preparation for implants, I lost confidence in my dentist after many issues. The final straw was when after quoting verbaly that it would cost in the region of £8-10k, he then after extractions quoted 15k!! I have no real idea of the correct price and am getting quotes. I live in Derby and would like to find someone I can trust/within a reasonable travelling distance and at an honest price. Can you advise/support? Thanks for your time.

My front teeth has become extremely sensitive

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi, A few days ago while I was eating I suddenly bit down on a piece of bone with my front teeth. Since then the left front tooth has become extremely sensitive. I think it is cracked but not exactly sure as I can’t see any crack but can feel a slight uneveness at the tip. It is so painful that I find it difficult talking as the cold air makes it hurt. Any ideas as to how to stop this? Please help!

Cost for reconstructing my teeth following periodontal disease

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I am about to start looking for a dentist to do some reconstructive work on my teeth. I am about to lose many teeth due to genetic periodontitis. I am willing to have some existing teeth pulled if it makes the procedure easier – I do not hold out much hope for most of them. My preferred option would be bridges secured by implants, if possible. Can you advise me of the options I may have and the cost implications of same.

I need to bring my front teeth forward as they are pushed back

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
Dear Mr Bohara, My top central incisors or the teeth shown when u smile closest to the nose. Have been pushed outwards to such a degree that, when i smile you cannot see many teeth and definitely not my top set of teeth. This is highly embarrassing for me, are there anyways i can push them back in??. I presume this was caused due to the fact that, i used to suck my thumb throughout my child hood. Causing my teeth to be pushed outwards. What can i use to push my teeth inwards? can i use removable retainers? rather than fixed braces??

Should laser machine for teeth whitening require trained professional?

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have a hairdressing salon. A friend is investing in laser teeth whitening products including a laser machine. my friend is not a dentist and is thinking of having someone who is n ot trained in any form of dentistry to do the treatments. My friend is asking me to rent some space for his little business. I do not feel comfortable about this and am concerned with public liability issues. I beleive it is illegal for someone not trained in the dentistry field to administer teeth whitening by laser.
