My teeth are crooked and twisted in same direction and tooth is broken off

Thursday, May 29th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I have a question about treatment for a problem with my lower teeth – the four between the incisors on the lower jaw. They’ve always been crooked, all of them are twisted in the same direction. I always brush twice a day at least, however, I still have had problems. Whilst brushing I felt a piece of what felt like tooth come out. I checked and I noticed a yellow buildup all along the inside of them 4 teeth. And the tooth which part of came away from now feels broken from the bottom of it and sharp. It feels as if the lower quarter of the tooth has just come off. Also, the yellow deposits will not brush off at all. I have no idea why I have these as I always brush a minimum of twice a day. perhaps it’s because the crookedness stops the brush from reaching there. My question was two-fold:1) What can be done for the tooth which has been chipped away?

2) What is the yellow buildup on the teeth? 3) As a long term solution, can braces be used to straighten the teeth and to ensure that there aren’t any nooks for nasty stuff to build up in?

4) What would be the cost of such treatment?

5) How much of a tooth has to chip off before there\’s a risk of it falling out?.. Thanks very much for your time.

I broke a tooth and a half sometime last year. I am currently contemplating to either have the tooth implant or the bridge. What are the good and bad of having a tooth implant and a bridge?

I hit my tooth while weightlifting and chipped it have I damaged my nerve

Thursday, May 29th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I hit my mouth today with a metal bar quite hard while weightlifting and my front tooth is chipped, even worse it has been moved forward slightly and is no longer flush with the rest of my teeth. I am in a state of panic as i am unsure if it can be fixed simply. I havent seen a dentist for over 10 years and im quite worried about the procedure to put it right again. Please could you shed some light on the procedure to help settle my nerves. Is it simply pushed back or is the tooth going to have to be removed. I am not in any pain and the tooth seems healthy, it needs to be corrected by moving it back 1mm or 2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Q.
Hiya, when i was younger i cracked my front tooth on a corner of a table my dentist had to put a pin to hold in it place. Now however the tooth has gone black and is shorter than my other fron tooth. I find it difficult to smile and to communicate with other people. Im not sure what treatment would be best.

Two front teeth were knocked out and rebuilt can I have veneers at 14

Sunday, March 9th, 2008
Q.
Hi, my 14 year old son had his two front teeth knocked out a couple of years ago. Our dentist rebuilt them, but unfortunatley they are no longer perfectly straight. He then broke one of them off again and has it rebuilt. this time the tooth has been rebuilt slightly smaller, apparently to avoid the same thing happening again. He has been told that he will have to wait until his gums have finished growing and then can have some veneers fitted, perhaps when he is about 18. My son is extremely upset with the look of his teeth as his original teeth were quite nice. Is it possible to have cosmetic surgery carried out on his teeth at this age, or is my dentist correct in what he has told us? could the way the teeth have been rebuilt have been done any better and is it just bad dentistry? many thanks,
