How often should an x-ray be used during routine check-up? Should I request one?

How often should x-ray be used during routine check-ups? I have been going to my current dentist for 15 years for 6 monthly checks with cleaning and polishing. He asks me if I have any problems (which I dont at present) but I have a lot of very old fillings, some I reckon over 40 years! I cant remember the last time my teeth were xrayed, should I request this next time? Many thanks,

Can you have tooth bonding done under anaesthetic?

My front 3 teeth which have been worked on before have become gappy quite badly so,I can’t seem to find out a great deal about tooth bonding online but wondered if there would be a likelihood they could be bonded without anaesthetic ? I don’t have a great fear of the dentist however I loathe being jagged at the front of the mouth and have put off going to see the dentist about this for around a year.,

Can you recommend a dentist in the Manchester area?

I would like to be sedated during my dentistry work using IV (Intravenous) Sedation, I need fillings and maybe an extraction. I also have 3 wisdom teeth. This causes me alot of pain, but i have had a bad experience with a dentist, which has made me petrefied! I have been in ain on and off for 4 years now. Will a dentist carry this work out under sedation and can anybody be recommended in the Manchester area? Thank you,

Hi, I have rotten teeth in my upper jaw and arranged an appointment for the first time in years to visit a dentist in Manchester. After the consultation I was given 3 options, 1) Remove all the rotten teeth and fit a denture. 2) fit a full mouth bridge that would be anchored to 1 tooth. 3) Implants. At the time I couldnt afford options 2 / 3, and was far to reluctant to get dentures as I’m only 30. I now have more money available for treatment, but the dentist wont see me again because I failed to turn-up for my second appointment (very bad, I know, but I felt I was being pushed into getting a treatment I didnt want). Could you advise me of what I should do next – I am still a very nervous patient and feel embarrased going to see a dentist who doesnt know my situation. Many Thanks,

What can I do to replace a missing tooth and correct the remaining teeth?

Hi Dr, I have had a lot of problems with my teeth over the last few years, unfortunately through fault of my own by neglecting them. My front tooth decayed and fell out a year ago, and I’ve been too embarrased and financially unable to get it taken care of or corrected. I’ve been using various ways of filling the gap, one of which I’m ashamed to say is by using tissue, needless to say it’s ruined the shape of my remaining teeth, is very uncomfortable and it just looks awful. I want to get this problem fixed and my tooth corrected. I would like to know the procedure you would recommend and an estimation of costs involved. Please help. Thank you.,

I am not sure what would be the best procedure – i have had a couple of fillings on my front teeth which are somewhat discouloured – I was thinking veneers but wasn’t sure if it is possible to veneer teeth that have got fillings? hey man i have a question for you my front left tooth is overlaping my right tooth in a upper diagonal position it covers up to 20% of my right tooth its also on top like half of it is.( only the very last edge of it is about a half centimeter on top from my right tooth also the left tooth clicks only the edge thats on top i dont know why. My right tooth is nearly perfect it could be easily pushed more to the right about a 6-10%. I wanna know if invisalign would be my best choice or simply a working choice,
