I have just had 4 Porcelain crowns fitted to my front upper teeth, temps were fine but for one week the permanents were a nighmare, i couldn’t eat, talk properly as they were clashing against my bottom teeth. Went back the dentist drilled their length and also the back to improve my bite, my bite is almost back to normal but she advised if i am still having trouble they can heightening my back teeth to open up my bite a bit more. Is this normal practice, obviously the crowns have now been drilled and are rough where once smooth and secondly if i still wasn’t satisfied to have more work done, hence more money even though my bite was fine to begin with. i’ve never had crowns before so thought what i was feeling was normal to begin with but the clashing of my teeth made me to believe this was something more and no amount of time would get me used to that, i could only talk with a lisp because i was too afraid to talk in case my teeth clashed together. i find it hard to believe that a dentist could miss my bite so much, i’ve been left traumatised by the whole experience, i’ve saved up for this treatment for 2 years and feel totally let down, shocked and very dissapointed. I would like to know if this is something that happens all the time, i would like to know as i would have never went private and had this treatment done. hopefully you can restore my faith in all of this.

Monday, November 22nd, 2010Hi there…..My two front teeth are discoloured,both been rootfilled, and one has snapped in half.I have veneers at the moment but can see the tooth underneath, and also the discoloration? Im getting crowns…What type of crown would you recommend, what looks the best? Do the nhs use poor material compared to private…as this is what the dentist told me? would i need posts or bridges with the nerve being dead? Please advise as it has really knocked my confidence…but dont know what to do?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010I try and look after my teeth,brushing very regular,strong mouthwash etc, but my dentist has told me that I have naturally weak teeth. I have fillings in almost every tooth and a recent pregnancy has made exsisting problems worse. Iv not got many back teeth left. Im only 26 and dont want dentures at such a young age. I cant afford implants or veneers, is there any help availiable to me? Will my maternity exemption certificate cover any cosmetic dentistry?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010on the left side of the back of my mouth i have only one tooth as lost the other due to reacuuring absess and my wisdom tooth was taken out.At night or during stressfull times i clench my jaw which has put pressure on this tooth.It has moved and is slightly loose and causing pain and can not close my jaw properly .Is there any kind of cosmetic dentristy that could help also my gums are receeding and i have gaps in my teeth.Is there any treatment that will help preserve my teeth for the future ??

Monday, November 22nd, 2010i have had toothache for almost 3-4 weeks, i was told that it was my wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted but the root of the tooth was crooked, i am worried that the dentist will not be able to take the full tooth and root out, what will happen if some of the root is left in, and will nmy dentist remove it all before i leave the chair??

I had braces when i was 15 (now 21) and still wear my retainer regularly – atleast once every 2-3 weeks. I’ve just noticed the two front teeth on the bottom have started to move back and they also move very slightly when i press them with my finger. they’re not wobbly but just show some movement if i press them. Is this normal?? I’ve been wearing the retainer a couple of days now which seems to have helped. is it a good idea to keep wearing the retainer everyday and should i keep it up long term?
I have periodontal disease. Is there anything that can be done?

Not even implants due to extensive bone loss. I wanted veneers and my dentist had discussed fitting a splint and then veneers. Are there really no options available to me cosmetically??
