Hello Andrew, I hope you can help. After completion of a dental bridge treatment, the wire which was connected to the false tooth went inside the gum after a few days. I started feeling pain occasionally. The dentist who performed the bridge said that this is normal but prescribed antibiotics and painkillers if pain persists and also advised to use fluoride toothpaste. Does the metal wire ever go inside the gum after few days? Have you heard of this before? Please advise me on my future course of action. Thank you.

Good Day. I Would One Day Like To Become A Dentist But I Am Confused. Could I Own My Own Practice If I Specialized In A Particular Subject?
Friday, July 18th, 2014Good day, Dr Moore. I want to become a dentist, but I am confused. Is general dentistry a speciality among the 9 specialities because I want to one day own my own private practice as a dentist? Could I own my private practice if I specialize in any of the 9 specialities like orthodontics or periodontics? I am good at chemistry and maths but not so much at biology. I know all subjects are important but which are the subjects that are really important for dentistry? If I decide to become a doctor of dental medicine, would I be able to carry out operations like cleaning and others? Thank you in advance for your reply.
Could I Have An Upper Plate Attached With No Pallet? How Is This Achieved?
Thursday, July 17th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I really hope you can help me. I am a long-term denture wearer, I’m a little sick and tired of it in all honesty and I’m looking for options. I saw an advert recently which mentioned that you can have an upper plate with no pallet attached. Is this true? Do you think this would involve dental implants and if so at what costs would be involved? I’m new to all this, I’ve just really had to make do and put up with it really. I look forward to hearing from you anyway. Thank you.
How And Where Can I Check If My Dentist Is Mac Veneer Certified At Their Laboratory?
Thursday, July 17th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. How and where can I check if the dentist is Mac Veneer certified at their laboratory?
There are lots of dentist say they are Mac Veneer certified and cannot prove it.
Also, how do I know if they really order the real Mac Veneer from the MicroDental laboratory instead of going to a regular laboratory that they work with to get another kind of pressed ceramic veneer?
Please answer my question because doing cosmetic dental is a big investment and mostly safety.
I want a legitimate and honest answer from a dentist who cares for their patient.
Thank you!
Do You Know How I Would Go About Contacting My Nearest Dental School. I Have A Lot Of Broken Teeth.
Wednesday, July 16th, 2014Hello Dr Moore I can’t afford treatment at the moment and I have broken teeth which need removing. I also need fillings and think I have a abscess. I am missing front teeth that I would like replaced so I can at least talk again never mind smile. I was wondering if you could tell me how I find my nearest dental school and also how I could contact them. Also if all this work could be carried out by students and how much it’s likely to cost. Thanks.
My Son’s Dentist Told Him He Would Need To Have Teeth Extracted To Have Braces. Is This Normal?
Wednesday, July 16th, 2014I Got Charged For Two Aveoplasties But I Can’t Remember Anything Of The Sort. What Should I Do?
Tuesday, July 15th, 2014I recently had 7 teeth pulled in preparation for a lower denture. I received local anaesthesia only, I was wide awake, no gas either. I just got my bill and there was £600 on the bill for two aveoplasties. I think they made a billing mistake. Like I said I was wide awake and I contend there were no aveoplasties done. I even remember him saying after he pulled the last tooth, “Look at that, 7 teeth in 25 minutes, I think we just set a record”. Even though I was very numb wouldn’t I know and be able tell that a procedure like that or something other than a tooth being pulled was being done? Can an aveoplasty be done without sutures being required? Thank you very much in advance.

Monday, July 14th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I am really miserable over my gummy smile. They come to far down and I can’t enjoy any kind of social life or take pictures without worrying. Do you know if crown lengthening would work in my situation or is there some other form of treatment I could consider? I would really appreciate your advice regarding this. It has always something that has always got the way and I can’t get past it without help. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out. I look forward to your reply.
I Have Teeth Which Are Overlapping And I’m Wondering Which Discreet Braces Would Be Suitable?
Monday, July 14th, 2014Hi Andrew. Just wondering which treatment would be best. My top two front teeth overlap and the teeth next to them the teeth are larger than my others with one straighter and the other a bit slanted. This also makes the third tooth and my fangs on each side stand out more and makes them look a lot larger and the second tooth on both sides go back a bit. These are the only problems with my teeth which I want straightened. The rest of my mouth is fine, it’s just my teeth are always on show. So I would like to know the quickest and best procedure and also maybe the cheapest. Which adult brace procedure do you recommend by this information? Thank you.
Do You Know Why My Dentist Refuses To Give Me A Bridge Instead Of A Partial Denture?
Friday, July 11th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I had a tooth removed which was crowned because of an on-going infection and I have a crowned tooth one side and a soon to be crowned tooth the other side. Do you know why my dentist refuses to use a bridge rather than a partial denture? I have looked at implants but I have osteoporosis in the family and I’m unsure. Both my dentist and my hygienist have said it would be unsuitable but I was hoping for a bridge. Thank you for getting in touch.
