Can you tell me why my gums are receeding?

Q.
my gums are receeding but i dont bleed. i clean twice a day very well and my teeth are in good condition. why are my gums receeding. i am a smoker and i also drink.could this be the reason?
A.
smoking is a risk factor in gum disease, it may also be the way you brush, I would try to see a Hygienist as soon as possible and try to stop smoking.
