Can I wear lingual braces with a false tooth?

Q. I have a very bad gum problem (being treated very well by my dentist) He is refuring me to a specialist clinic and suggested a lingual? to stablise my teeth, could I wear my one false tooth with this kind of brace?,
A. If your false tooth is part of a denture then this may cause problems
