Can I save the tooth after having 2 infections from it?

Q. Hi I am female, healthy, aged 47 and 7 months I fell whilst walking on Mt Snowdon in Wales. On falling my face hit a rock and took the impact of the fall chipping one of my front teeth, knocking the other one and the tooth next to it backwards and sidewards so they are now out of aligment. I have had both teeth that were pushed out of place root canal filled, however, my front tooth has an infection which I can feel just below my nose. 4 wks ago I had an apicectomy carried out at my local hospital. No fracture to the root was discovered during the procedure and the infection was removed. However, the infection returned after several days and is still persisting. I revisit the hospital next week, however, ahead of this I would like to know next steps and if there is still anything that can be done to save the tooth. I look forward to hearing from you.,
A. I’m sorry to hear of your problems. Once apicectomy has been carried out there isn’t really anything else that can be done. I would wait however as 1 month isn’t a long enough period to see if the infection will resolve
