Can I be put to sleep during dental treatment?

Q. i have not been to dentist for 20+ years my teeth are falling out or breaking i think i need removing but would like to be put to sleep and what would the cost be i am in good health appart from under active thyroid thank you,
A. Due to the risks associated with full general anaesthetics it is only available on rare occasionans and only within hospitals. Sedation is the more likely route and leaves little or no memmory of the event. Costs are too variable to quote for private treatment, NHS fees of £198 should cover sedation , extractions & dentures.
