Can composite bonding be shortened on my daughter’s front teeth?

Q.
Hi.My 10 year old daughter broke her 2 upper front teeth. The doctor bonded them with composite. I am wondering if they could be shortened instead. It is an arch shape. How many mm could one shorten a tooth? By the way,her teeth are already longer than the rest.
Thank you.

Thank you for your enquiry.

It is possible to shorten the composite on her teeth. In regards to how much they can be shortened, it depends on how long they are and if it looks like her teeth will grow to match the ones that are already long.

The best option would be for her to have a consultation with a dentist so they can assess the length of the teeth and if they can be shortened.
