Can a mouth guard serve as a retainer?
Q. hi dr. tennet! first of all, thank you so much for your time!! now my question…i dont get retainers with my orthodontic treatment….can mouth guards serve as retainers?,
A. Most mouth guards are not stiff enough to act as a long term retainer although they can be useful in an emergency / short term. I recommend that you follow tha advice of the orthodontist who treated your case. Hope this helps Rob
