As A Teenager, Will The NHS Cover The Costs Of Invisalign Treatment To Straighten My Teeth?

Q.
Hello Dr Patel. I’m a teenage boy and I want to ask you a question that I’m not sure. If my mother is on social benefits, is it free to get Invisalign for me? I live in UK and I heard that the NHS can straighten my teeth for free. I don’t want regular braces as they are way too noticeable. Is there any other braces I could get to straighten my smile? Can you please help me out with this please? Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello and thank you for writing in. I’m afraid Invisalign is a private treatment so is not available on the NHS. If you are under the age of 16 you can get fixed braces through the NHS. I would advise you to go for a consultation and see what your dentist says. If you’d like to find out more about the different braces you can search this website for more information. I would need to see you in person to find out whether braces are suitable for you or not. I hope this helps you. Kind regards, Dr Riten Patel.
