Are there any temporary solutions to fixing an old bridge?

Q. I have two bridges which are quite old (20 years) and am getting married at the end of December (very last minute). In the past year my gums have receeded and you can see some of the top of the bridge. I am worried about my photographs and I have very little money to have them replaced just now. Is there a less expensive solution which could tied me over until the new year when I could afford to have them replaced?

A. Dear Enquirer, If your gums have receded, it is sometimes possible to place a tooth coloured filling in this area which can cover the dark margins visible on your bridges. However, this is not the best permanent solution and there may still be some show through of the dark colour. Your bridges have seved you well and I think it is probably best that you start looking at having them replaced as soon as you are able. All the best for your big day in December! Regards, Sunita
