Anyone can help me out to close the gap in my teeth without braces? is veneers an option

Q. Dear Julian am 20 years old. For years i have hated the huge gap between my 2 front teeth, it is approximately 1-1.5cm wide. I have been to see a number of cosmetic dentists with regards to closing this with veneers as due to my proffesion i would not like to go down the braces route if at all possible. I have had mixed opinions on what they think they can do. One female dentist said that she could use 8 veneers on the top to close it up but due to the size of the gap she may need to carry out root canals. The other 2 dentists i have been to see said that they would not do veneers on me because it would not be possible to close the gap without damaging my teeth and it would not close completely. they said i could only close it with braces but i really dont like the shape or anything about my existing teeth, i just want them gone!! One suggested some thing about removing the front 4 teeth and using implants and a bridge or something?! to close the gap but wasnt keen as there is nothing acctually wrong with my existing teeth but i was just wondering if you could give me some information about this and what you think about whether anyone can help me out there without braces?! am desperate- this would really change my life so much. many kind regards

A. I have closed many gaps with veneers successfully.  A gap the size of yours should be fairly easy to treat and is unlikely to result in root treatment.  Normalyy 8 to 10 veners would be required – there is an example of closing a gap on my web site.
