A small side tooth has broke

Q. A small side tooth has broke (the back half)after a root canal filling. My previous dentist said that she could crown it for me but I didn’t want her to crown it because I wasn’t happy with my last crown. She filled it for me. Two years on, the filling has falling out and my new dentist said that I can’t have a crown as there is not much tooth left at the back. She has tried to fill it but it kepts falling out. She says that she doesn’t think my tooth will last long. I have looked up what I could do and the only thing is an implant but they are so expensive and they don’t do them on the NHS. Is there any alternative place I could go. Maybe trainees in a hospital. I live in London. I don’t have very good teeth because when I was 17 years old, I went into hospital for an op and the drugs they gave me rotten lots of my teeth, epecially all my top front teeth. Which have cause me pain ever since. Thanks for your help.

A. Thank you for question. If you live in London you could go to Guys Hospital. there is a dental school there and you ask if they are accepting new patients. Failing that, if you are concerned about the appearance of your teeth you may have to find a private dentist and you will have more treatment options available to you.
If your tooth has to come out you could ask your new dentist if a bridge would be an option. This is cheaper than an implant and will improve the appearance of you teeth
Kind Regards
