What protective mouth guards are there for contact sport?

Q. My 13 year old daughter had an accident where she fell and received a severe trauma on her front teeth. She had a root fracture on one of her teeth which required to put a post on it before having a crown put on and her other tooth was not lost but half of her tooth broke and another crown was used. She has been in Taekwondoo since she was 7 years old. I dont want her to give up this sport she loves so much, but my concern is that since it is a contact sport what protection in terms of mouth guards would be recommended for this kind of situation. Can any possible mouth guard offer some level of protection in her case and in the sport she is in. How strong are these crowns?,
A. In contact sports children should wear a mouthguard made by a dentist as these will give them the best protection rather than over the counter mouthguards.
