One of my tooth is pushed back, is it right to have veneers at this situation

Q. I wore a fixed brace two years ago and since then one tooth had pushed back just a little. I went to an orthadontist who quoted a price of £2,800 for the treatment. do you think this is a reasonable quotation? i want to emphasise that my tooth hasn’t moved that much!! also i was talking to a friend who had some veneers in and thought the world of them. is this a situation where i could possibly consider just a veneer on the tooth to give the impression that it’s straight?

A. Yes, this IS an option. Veneers are like false nails. They create the illusion of symmetry etc.
However, if you are happy wit thshape and colour of your teeth as they are- except for the position of just one tooth- then I would advise you to have some form of orthodontic treatment. It is very common for people to get teeth moving back into their original position after wearing braces- as retainers are not stressed enough. A retainer can be fixed- a thin wire bonded to the back of the teeth- or a removable retainer- like a night gurad that can be worn at night. This helps to keep your teeth in position. If you are unhappy with the quote that you ahve been given, then shop around and see what alternative options can be offered. There are many products on the market and I’m sure you will find a happy medium 🙂
Good luck
