Bad gum disease is not being treated by the NHS, Why?
Q. Hi my wife has quite bad gum desease and is to be refered to a periodontist but has been told you cant have this on the nhs and it will cost around £2000, to put right. how and why, please can you help and advise please.thank you.
A. Specialised gum treatment is not really covered by the NHS, the only way you might be able to get this treatment for free would be to get referred to a teaching hospital with a periodontal department
it is disgrace–if you have not funds–then what????loose your teeth unnecessary?

I agree, it is a disgrace. It’s also very, very common so why isn’t it availale on the NHS?
The fees are disgusting, Most people wouldn’t be able to reach into their pocket for £2000.
