i’ve been referred to a local implant dentist by my dentist to have a consultation for full upper jaw implants. The dentist has given an estimate of £16,000 is this a realistic amount or should i shop around to get the best deal. Also how do i know who would give me the best value for money.
Implants are very expensive, so it does sounds about round. It’s always a good idea to shop around and than go with what you feel comfortable with.
a dental implant Complete with a porcelain crown is around £2000 but make sure you go to a dentist who has lots of dental implants experience and the end of teh day its a lump of metal going in your skull – worth paying more for a decent dentist!
What should a straightforward single implant on the lower jaw of a 53 year old man cost given that no bone grafting is necessary?
Prices vary depending on the type of implant and crown (new tooth) approx ranges are £1800-3500.

I would like to find a dentist using something other than titanium implants. Are there any? I hear that titanium traces may migrate. I have read about zirconium as a substitute, it seems to be quite widely used in Germany and Switzerland. Many thanks
Zirconium is brittle and does not have the track record of titanium. I can’t really recommend this to you as titanium has been shown to be safe over many years
HI I HAVE A BROKEN DENTURE TOOTH. I AM UNEMPLOYED CONCIOUS AN PARANOID OF SMILING. AFFECTING MY CONFIDENCE AN I HAVE NO DENTIST . I HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE AS IT IS. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE . I HAVE LOW SELF ESTEEM. THIS IS MAKING ME MORE AN MORE LESS CONFIDENT. I WONT GO OUT AN SOCIALISE . I WOULD FEEL MUCH BETTER WITH IMPLANTS OR BRIDGING BUT MY LAST DENTIST WOULD NOT DO IT ON NHS AS IT WOULD OF COST TOO MUCH .
I’m sorry but he is right implants are not available on the NHS
I have three gaps in my teeth. two lower and one upper…………. …….I am aware I need implants but I am worried about the cost… Am I better off travelling abroad to fix this as I don’t have that much to spend and I have checked on the internet that they are cheaper abroad. I have also recently had one of my fillings from another tooth come off. I am fifty years old and worried that the whole teeth will fall off. Meanwhile, what can I do to maintain the remaining healthy teeth. Regarding dentures, am i able to have these on the NHS or the crown or the bridge. I need your advice. Thanks
I don’t provide NHS treatment so I am not really in a position where I can advise you. Traveling abroad is cheaper but can have risks as well.
I Just recently had two teeth knocked out. My top front tooth, &the tooth that sits beside it on the side. I had to have my gum stitched up. & was told it’s guna take about 3-4 months for me to get implant teeth. But what I was wondering is, being that I had a pretty average size gap (not too big but not paper thin either) will they put my teeth exactly how they were, with the gap? Or are my teeth guna look really jacked up & have like too big of an implant tooth in the front?
hard to say with out seeing you. but it should be possible to put the implants where the teeth were
I had an implant put in on 3rd March but it still feels very uncomfortable and my gum above it is going a sort of blue-ish colour .It is not actually painful but getting more and more uncomfortable. I had it done over a period of 9 months after the post on my crown had broken and I could not receive another crown. I did not have a bone graft as you cannot see my gums when I smile so opted for a gum coloured top to imitate the gum.The teeth next to this inplant are both crowned I am 65 years of age and in good health. I do not smoke.
usually should feel comfortable by now, go back and see the dentist involved ATB
