British Ambassador Opens New Dental Clinic in Bratislava
The opening of a new English-speaking dental clinic in the city of Bratislava was officiated by British Ambassador Andy Garth in a ribbon cutting ceremony on 2nd October.
Under the brand name Dental Holiday, Smile Clinic Slovakia have been treating UK patients for nine years. A new English-speaking clinic has now been opened in the Bratislava city centre, located in Tower 115 on the banks of the River Danube near the Slovak National Theatre. This location, in Bratislava’s tallest building, is perfect for expats living in the city and the surrounding area.
Like the flagship clinic in the town of Piešťany, this modern dental clinic is kitted out with the most advanced dental technology for the international expat community. More than 3,000 UK patients have been treated at Smile Clinic Slovakia by Dr Marek Salka, renowned implantologist. Dr Salka trained in the UK and has practiced dentistry for more than 14 years. He speaks at various dental events and conferences abroad.
Along with his business manager Daniel Shaw, Dr Salka started the clinic in Piešťany with just four members of staff. The pair are amazed at the demand for English-speaking dentists overseas and the growth of the original clinic is what encouraged them to start a new clinic in the heart of Bratislava.
This incredible growth includes around 30 English-speaking dental professionals between the two clinics. This multi-lingual team includes the clinic’s driver Dano, who collect patients at the airport in Bratislava and drives them to the Piešťany clinic. Also working at the clinics are three hygienists, six lab technicians, eight nursing care specialists and seven dentists. Each staff member speaks English along with other languages as well.
Daniel Shaw said that Bratislava is well known for its expat community, making it an ideal place for an English-speaking dental practice. Smile Clinic Slovakia is located in the city’s fasted growing area and as well as international patients, the clinic has also been seeing patients from Vienna and parts of Hungary, not to mention Slovak clients.
Dental Holiday was a finalist in the IMTJ International Dental Clinic Awards in London in 2014. Both clinics are GCR Internationally Accredited.
