what are Clip on veneers and do they cause problems with gums?

Q. Dear Dr Kailesh Solanki,
IVE HEARD ABOUT THESE NEW CLIP ON VENEERS AND I WAS WOUNDERING IF THEY ARE ANY GOOD AND IF U WOULD HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR GUMS IF U HAD THEM PUT ON I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF U COULD GET BACK TO ME THANK YOU
Z.M.

A. Hi Z.M,
The clip on veneers I think you mean are what are called lumineers. These are veneers which are placed on to teeth which are not prepared. This is a great advantage of the system as people hate the drilling associated with conventional veneers. The disadvantage of lumineers is that you need to start with a relatively straight smile for them to work and look natural. If lumineers or veneers are done correctly there should be no issues with damage of the gums. Hope this is helpful.
