My Canines Are Too Big. I Don’t Feel Comfortable Laughing Or Smiling. Is There A Cheaper Alternative To Braces Which Could Help Me?

Friday, March 21st, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore, hopefully you can help me. I have two big teeth (my canines). It makes me feel very uncomfortable to laugh and grin when taking photos. Can they be made smaller? If so, what is the name of the procedure and how much will it cost? Also because my canines are so big, my lateral incisors are very small. Can they be made bigger? So overall I have a nicer smile? I don’t want to wear braces so I’m asking you if there is a different and cheaper alternative?

Do Mercury fillings have a adverse effect on multiple sclerosis sufferers ?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011
Q.

Hello I have suffered with multiple sclerosis for some years now . I recently read an article saying that mercury can have adverse effects because I suffer with M.S.
How true is this? I have a real dental phobia and finding out this has made me worried.

I have just had a deep metal filling
should I be concerned or not because last time I had the metal filling removed and replaced with a white filling that’s why I am worried cause as i suffer already with MS i am scared this will make my MS worse. Is there any alternative fillings i can have that are completely safe or would i have to pay extra for non mercury fillings.
Regards

My canines and lateral incisors are out of proportion with the rest of my teeth. What is the cheapest way I can resolve this issue?

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010
Q.
Hello and thank you for your time. My teeth are really affecting the way I feel about myself. My two front teeth are ok but my ‘Lateral incisor and Canine’ teeth on both sides are not in proportion to the rest of my teeth. My ‘Canine’ teeth are like baby teeth and my previous dentist told me this would grow but I am now 20, 21 in Dec and I think its safe to say “they wont”. As I am a student, I would like advise on the cheapest way I can fix my problem. I am also considering ‘Lumineers’ . Please help me resolve my issue. Thank you so much!,

I would like a full smile that doesn’t require metal braces, what do you suggest?

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010
Q.
I was born without my top lateral incisors and so my other teeth have moved forward to fill the gaps. I have always been rather concious of my smile because my first premolars show at the side and my canines are pointy. I also feel that my canines are moving further out (parrot-tooth I’m told?!?). I’m looking for the cheapest treatment that will give me a full, lovely smile but ideally not require metal braces. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.,
