Should I Seek a Second Opinion About My Brace Treatment?
Q.
Hello,
Hello,
I am currently on the Six Month Smiles treatment. It’s been 8 months and my dentist claims it’s only my bottom jaw that needs more time. I feel my top jaw isn’t straightened to my satisfaction with one of the incisors still a bit wonky and one canine still sticking out a bit. My dentist insists the wonky incisor is due to the shape of the tooth and the canine is if anything over-corrected, but I’m just not satisfied when I look in the mirror. Is it worth seeking a second opinion?
A.
Thank you for your question. Yes, indeed it is. Please choose someone very experienced and highly qualified for the opinion, maybe even a specialist orthodontist and/or a cosmetic dentist who can advise on ways to improve tooth shape.
