Is there anything I can do to prevent further gum recession, and do I need to get old crowns replaced?

Q. Hi, I have 3 front top crowns which are over 25 years old! one of them – the gum has receded slightly and there’s a gap which sometimes during the day is catching slightly on the inside of my lip. im absolutely terrified of the dentist, i can still remember the whole afternoon in the chair getting them done. Can i do anything to halt any further gum receding, am i brushing too hard, has the crown moved, do i need to get it replaced. thank you so much.,
A. You need to get the tooth checked and an x-ray as there could be some decay under this “gap”.

My son saw his dentist at the end of June, front tooth was not light grey and was told his teeth was fine. Now it is the middle of August and his one front tooth has this grey color. What’s causing this, and how so fast but more importantly, what can I do to save this tooth? My son is 13 years old and very vain.
