Is there an alternative to jaw surgery?
Q. I have braces on my upper teeth 5 months ago and they extract 2 premolars for gap , now during treatment my ortho is recommending me jaw surgery for lower jaw advancement and he advise that the braces at lower teeth will not give you the profile that you are looking for. is there any alternative of jaw surgery?,
A. It depends on how severe your malocclusion is and how old you are, so I can’t really tell for sure at the moment, unfortunately in severe cases, surgery is often the only option.
