I recently visited my dentists about Inman aligners, but she said I could’ve have them due to gum disease. Is there any way around this?

Q. I recently visited a dentist about the Iman aligner as i have a large gap between my two front top teeth. She stated that I had gum diseases and I would not be able to have the braces until I have several cleaning /treatment. I do not feel that my teeth are as bad and I am very disappointed. Is there any other way around this and can I have any other type of braces. I was hoping i would be able to have the braces and treat the gum silmultaneously. My gums feel and look fine and they are not swollen. Please let me know if it is still possible to get the braces. Thank you.,
A. If you do have gum disease then no you really need to get this sorted out first. I am happy to take a look

My periodontist moved my teeth and the three top right teeth next to the front tooth (but not including it) are now either crooked or pushed inward. Crowding isn’t the problem. Would an Inman Aligner still work for me? Thank you.,

You have to be very careful moving teeth with periodontal problems. It is best coordinated between a periodontist and an endodontist who have a good working relationship.

hello Do you think you can combine iman aligner treatment with dental implants? I am going to have a missing tooth replaced later this month with an implant but i would also really love to have my teeth straightened. it is mainly my two front teeth which are causing the problems, as they stick out quite a bit. The implant is being placed by the side of one of my front teeth, after i had it knocked out in an accident. Do you think i will be able to have both treatments and if so how long after my implants have been put it should i wait? thank you

Hello without seeing you this is difficult to say-however, it has been done before in the right situation. I expect it can be done but you should see an experienced IA dentist kind regards

hello What happens if your implant gets infected? I have had mine for about year now and have started noticing some soreness located around the implanted tooth. I do have a good oral hygiene routine and am unsure whether this is serious enough to bother my dentist with. The soreness has only occured for less than a week but i thought i’d check with a dentist before booking an appointment with my own, to see where i said. If it is infected will it have to come out and be cleaned? and if that happens can it be put back in again? any help you can give would be very much appreciated

I was hit in the mouth about 18 months ago and one of my top front teeth was bent back behind the bite slightly – All of my other teeth are fine. Can the Inman Aligner be used to push back just a single tooth, or does it move all the teeth to bring them straight? Also the tooth which was bent feels quite numb but hasn’t become discoloured. Would it still be possible to have the Inman Aligner fitted with this issue?

You will need to have an xray to see if there is bone or root damage. If everything is fine then the Inman Aligner should be able to move the tooth forward. Regards,

hello what is the usual procedure to have an implant after you have had gum disease? I have lost one tooth and the doctor tells me he has got the disease under control, who long do you think I should wait to have my implant treatment? Also what would you suggest would be the best course of action, cleaning wise, to keep my implant in tip top condition? I really don’t want to lose the tooth right after i get it back! thanks

If the bone has healed 4-6 months you can place the implant. Once the final tooth is in place regular home care- flossing brushing tepe brushes etc and visits with the hygienist should keep it in good condition

i have very sensitive teeth, which react to hot, cold, pressure, you name it my teeth seem to react to it! I was just wondering about the inman aligner and the effect it would have on my sensitive teeth. Would it be likely to make them worse? I really want the treatment for my two front teeth, which are horribly buck, but obviously months full of pain isn’t exactly an appealing choice. I can generally deal with the sensitivity in day to day life, but im not sure I would be able to do the same if the pain was constant. What do you think doctor?

I would recommend you go to a dentist to assess the reason for the pain you are getting. It is essential that your teeth and gums are healthy prior to having any form of orthodontic or cosmetic treatment.

How ‘invisible’ is the inman aligner? I have gaps between my front teeth that i would like closing and i’v heard that the iman aligner is realy, really fast at treating teeth problems, but i would also want something that you can’t see to much. DO you think that the inman aligner fits this description or should I opt for a different type of brace. I just need a brace for my top tteeth and none for my bottom, so how much generally would you say it would cost me to have the inman aligner for my problem? thank you

It does not show too much but it can be seen. I cannot comment on cost as each provider sets their own fee but it is much, much less expensive than traditional braces.
