I have a discoloured tooth under my crown, why is this?

Q. I have a gold crown in one of my molars and the tooth underneath is discoloured. I don’t know if I had root canal treatment in that tooth or not. It’s not yellow or grey, but an even, brown colour over the whole area that can be seen – is it likely to be just discolouration rather than decay? I don’t have any pain or problems with it. I’m going to have my dentist look at it in two weeks but I’m a very anxious patient so wondered if you could warn me what I might expect.,
A. hi discolouration could be due to improper enalmel development which should not be a problem if it is crowned, or could be discolouration due to having root canal, and lastly due to decay. id advise letting the dentist having a look as it could easily be nothing to worry about.
