I Am Worried That My Wisdom That Certain Teeth Will Be Pushed Out By My Wisdom Teeth. How Can I Get Straightened Teeth?

Q.
Hi, I am 28, and for years now I have not been happy with my teeth. When I was 15 I had teeth removed to make room for a brace. The brace seemed to do nothing and my teeth are now misshaped. I also have wisdom teeth coming through which have been coming through for years now and don’t seem to be growing much further. I am worried that certain teeth in my mouth will be pushed out by my wisdom teeth. I am wanting straight teeth that are not misshaped but not sure of the cost involved could you help?

Hello and thank you for your question, which is a very common one. If you have already had teeth removed and braces, it is likely that following the treatment the teeth have relapsed. This is when the teeth go back to be being out of line and not straight. This commonly happens if a retainer is not provided or worn following orthodontic treatment. The simplest and most conservative way to get your teeth straight will be braces (orthodontics), and the cost of this treatment will very much depend on the severity of your crowding. In order that you get the best possible treatment, I would strongly suggest having a consultation with an Orthodontist or a dentist who carries out a lot of orthodontic treatment. They will also be able to advise you on the best management of your wisdom teeth.
I hope this is helpful. Regards, Marcus Gambroudes.
