I am porcelaine veneers but my temporary veneers feel really bulky

Q. I am in the process of having porcelaine veneers fitted to my top front six teeth and four days ago had my teeth prepared and temporary veneers fitted, which I have to wear for two weeks. My problem is that they are uncomfortable make me feel that I have a bulky foreign object in my mouth all the time and I\’m now worried that the final veneers although separate teeth and not in one piece like these will be the same or is this normal at this stage? I\’m beginning to get really worried that I\’m not going to be able to live with veneers!

A. Apologies for the late reply but I have been away on conference.

Temporary veneers can often feel bulky and strange - the good news is that my patients say that the final veneers feel like their own teeth. They should feel beautifully smooth, secure and easily cleaned. I am sure that your dentist will do a great job and I hope I have helped to reassure you.
