I am now to have root canal treatment will the treatment hurt?

Q. Hello, I recently had two fillings done, one in a middle tooth and the other in a back tooth. After 24 hours the back tooth was causing excruciating pain so long story short i got an emergency appointment and the back filling was removed. I am now to have root canal treatment done. But was wondering firstly if my dentist should have known that my root was exposed and that putting a filling on top would have caused so much pain and secondly if root canal treatment will hurt? please reply

A. Unfortunately, sometimes complications can occur in dentistry. We are dealing with the human body. If a root canal treatment is done correctly, then it should not hurt at all.
