Q. Hi i have a fear of being sick and gagging etc. i had my teeth removed at the age of 21 and i have needed false but i’ve tried to go back for the impressions but the first time i had a panic attack because the impression made me gag and i’m really scared to go back. can you have the impression done any other way so i don’t have to have somethin in my mouth.
A. You are not the only person with this problem. In my practice i have treated a number of people with gagging problems one method that works really well is having IV sedation, some medicine is put into your arm and it allows you to relax you are still awake and in complete control but because you are more relaxed we can take impressions and xrays that normally you would not tolerate. I think this would be a great option for you.
