Continued root canal pain 36 hours after treatment.

Q.
i have had the first session of root canal treatment, it is 36 hours after the treatment and the pain is really bad! is this normal. i have taken pain killers and they dont seem to touch the pain. could there be a problem? your advice would be greatly appriciated.
A.
It is likely that you had a very inflamed nerve . You should contact your dentist who may suggest another dressing to let things settle before filling the canals
