How much do veneers cost and is this price per tooth?

Monday, March 5th, 2012
Q.

how much would it cost for a durathin venneer for the whole of the top front teeth? including consultation fee, also how much would it cost for the top and bottom sets combined as when described as one veneer on the internet i am not sure if they mean one tooth or the one complete veneer on the gum shield covering the whole of the top or bottom set of teeth, as i have seen on the internet that show pictures of before and after results it seems that it does not matter if you have capped teetth as the veneers would still work? and is the whiteness of the patients veneers variable as again in before and after pictures there are smiles that look better but not in the whiteness of the original teetth although they look more natural to the orignals they are not as desirable unless improved by several shade of white without being over the top

What is the difference between a veneer and a crown?

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi There Dr,

I wanted to ask you, What is the difference between veneers and veneers? and which 1 is more beneficial?

Im very inconfident about my smile, even though, I dont have bad teeth or smile(Alhamdulillah), but the thought of having veneers or lumineers placed and giving me that perfect smile I want would be my dream come true.
The other question was, If i wanted to have this done? could I spread the cost over a period of time or is it a ‘one of payment’

Id appreciate a reple soon

Thankyou,

Take care,

Teeth whitening treatments don’t seem to be working, would lumineers be a good option?

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011
Q.

My teeth and gums are healthy I do have one implant at the front which Im very pleased with and one crown which is doing fine. I have some filling but my main complaint now is I really want white teeth as ive tryed whitening treatment but not enough of a change for me I want something to work quickly and be how I want to look from the start. My teeth are very straight and I was thinking that Lumineers may be the way forward as I dont want my teeth worked on or to much preparation if possible. Plus would I have to do something with the Implant and Crown or can this go over the top.

Will lumineers be the best option to treat the damage caused by acid erosion?

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011
Q.

Dear Rob,

I’m 20 years old and have extremely sensitive teeth. Notably, this because I’ve suffered bad acid erosion to my teeth due to the diet during my younger years (As a further consequence, the enamel on my front teeth is very thin). Cold and hot foods/ drinks give me a very sharp and agonising pain. Even when I eat foods that aren’t affected by tempature such as chocolate, I feel a painful sensation that goes directly to my back teeth.

I’ve been looking into Lumineers as a way of correcting this problem. I was wondering because of my extreme tooth sensitivity would I be eligible to have them done on the NHS? I’ve decided against traditional veneers because of the unecessary tooth reduction and the fact that I do still have healthy teeth.

Thank you

What is the best way for me to whiten my smile?

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I am interested in some information about teeth whitening. I am only 19 years old but my teeth have a slightly discoloured yellow appearance. I have had problems with enamel erosion, mainly on the four teeth in the front of my mouth, I have read enamel eroision can affect the colour of teeth as it wears away the whiter enamel. I also have translucent areas in a few places and a couple of small chips in these areas. One of my front teeth has a small area of composite bonding that replaced a more significant chip. I have made significant changes in my diet and eating habits to stop the erosion becoming worse and my dentist has said that the teeth will be okay as they are, however the appearance bothers me, particuarly the yellow discolouration. Honestly I can not really remember if my teeth used to be any whiter as i assume discoloration is a slow process and i only became aware of it recently, I have also read that some people have naturally more yellow coloured enamel which could be the case for me.
I have done some research on the different methods of tooth whitening and have read about lumineers. These seem good however the price seems to be very high, (only being 19 price obviously is an issue) I assume these can be used to cover the small chips as well as changing the colour of the teeth. I would rather steer clear of conventional veneers as they are more destructive to the tooth and i am still very young. I have also looked at home teeth whitenng kits available from dentists however I have read about possible nasty side-effects including increased risk of cancer…? Also what would the effect be of this on my area of composite bonding, would it lighten aswell? Having a hollywood smile is not important to me, i would really just like my teeth a few shades whiter, and possibly have the couple of chips and translucent areas sorted out, I have become very strict with my self about my teeth and now take very good care of them, however damage has already been done. I would like to have these things sorted out so i can start looking after a nice set of teeth!
Your advice would be very helpful, thank you for your time.

Can I have Lumineers fitted in time for my wedding?

Monday, July 11th, 2011
Q.

Hi There,
Im getting married in October abroad and am looking into lumineers as im a little worried about the shaving to my teeth to get it prepared. I was told by a dentist I visited that lumineers wouldnt work on the top as my teeth are big enough for the size of my mouth so would need to do a bit of teeth shaving. I am looking to have something done and I dont think tooth whitening would work as I have stained teeth not through smoking as I dont smoke ive just always had from childhood now into adulthood. I would like a beautiful smile for my wedding can you tell me how long it would take to have veneers/lumineers from first consultation how many weeks and how many times would I need to visit? Please could you let me know opening times or surgery I would only be able to make it on Saturdays, what is the first available appointment you have?

What is the best option for whitening my discoloured, sensitive teeth?

Monday, June 6th, 2011
Q.

Dear Doctor,

I have discolored teeth and would like to have this corrected. I have already tried the more widely available teeth whitening strips but my teeth became very sensitive soon after so I had to stop using them. I also developed a very thin, white vertical line down one of my front teeth and thought that the enamel had been damaged by the strips.

I feel from this experience that a professional laser whitening system would not suit me. I am reluctant to get veneers because I feel it is too invasive to natural teeth.

I have heard of cosmetic bonding and was wondering if this was an option to whiten teeth. Some sources say that bonding can only be used to correct smaller stains, but some suggest that it can be used to whiten the entire tooth.

Please could you tell me if cosmetic bonding is suitable for tooth whitening, Thank You.
