Can you advise what can be done about a gap between wisdom tooth where food gets stuck?

Q.
I have a small gap between a wisdom tooth and the adjacent tooth where food particles get stuck nearly every time I eat and it is uncomfortable and very irritating. A secondary problem with the same tooth is that food also gets stuck between it and the gum (on the opposite side of the gap). My dentist says the only solution is to extract the wisdom tooth. Can I do anything less dramatic such as dental bonding? I carry a 0.5mm TePe Interdental brush with me that helps keep my sanity but far from solves the problem.
A.
Dear Enquirer,
Unfortunately, dental bonding would not work at the gum level, it would only serve as a food trap. Extraction of the tooth will prevent potential gum disease in this area as well as preventing decay on the teeth where the food is getting trapped.
I hope this helps,
Regards,
Sunita
