Health Ministers To Launch New Dental Campaign In Tel Aviv

Sample News Big

Health ministers are preparing to launch a new dental campaign to encourage people to take better care of their teeth and gums. Ministers, Yair Amikam and Dr Shlomo Zusman, will launch the campaign at the Beit Sokolov journalist’s centre in Tel Aviv this weekend.

The campaign is backed by the health ministry and sponsored by Oral-B and Smile, a subsidiary of Clalit Health Services. The campaign will appear on media channels and educational programmes.

The campaign will run for a month with the aim of encouraging people to adopt good oral hygiene habits.

The launch of the campaign comes shortly after research revealed poor standards of oral health among children and teenagers in Israel, according to Amikam. The aim of the campaign is to urge people to take responsibility for their oral health and to improve standards of oral health and reduce rates of decay and gum disease. The campaign is not run by the ministry and it is not state-funded, as there is currently a budget crisis, but it does have the support of the health ministry and the ministers have approved the educational messages delivered by the campaign.
