Dental Office In Sylvania To Host Free Dental Day
A dental office in Sylvania is hosting a free dental day on Saturday 16th February. The sixth annual ‘Smiles from the Heart’ event will take place between 8am and 3pm.
During the day dentists, assistants, hygienists and dental nurses will be working together to treat as many patients as possible. 70 registration forms will be handed out but dentists will treat more people if there is time left at the end.
The dental team of Brookview Dental will be offering one free treatment per patient, including a filling, tooth extraction or cleaning treatment. The offer is open to adults who cannot afford to pay for regular dental treatment and appointments will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The first 70 patients will be asked to fill in a form indicating their preference of treatment.
The office will open at 7.30am and patients are advised to turn up early to avoid disappointment. Over the last 5 years more than 475 patients have received free treatment at the practice and dentists have given out more than $80,000 worth of treatment.
Shane Ferguson, practice manager at Brookview Dental, said the event is hugely rewarding and that many of the patients they see have not seen a dentist for several years.
The event is being held close to Valentine’s Day and the practice bills it as a means of sharing love and giving back to the community.
