A dentist from York is celebrating after being short-listed for the Young Dentist of the Year award at the 2012 Dentistry Awards.

Kris Lees, principal dentist at Thorpe Dental Group, has made the shortlist of four dentists and is hoping for an early Christmas present when the winner is announced at the awards ceremony on the 7th December.

Mr Lees joined the group in 205 after graduating and is now owner of three practices in Bishopthorpe, Copmanthorpe and Woodthorpe.

Mr Lees, who is just 30 years old, said that he was delighted with the nomination and grateful to the team of staff that supports him in day to day practice and makes the dental group a success. Mr Lees heads a team of several dentists, hygienists and dental nurses across the three sites and he is happy that all the hard work he has put into the practices has paid off.

The Dentistry Awards is a national awards scheme, which recognises the best dental professionals and practices in the country.
