Dentist Appeals for Alley Deep Clean

A dentist from Leighton Buzzard has complained about the state of an alleyway, which runs alongside his dental practice. Dr Arun Darbar, from Smile Creations Dental Innovations, believes that Bell Alley is in need of a deep clean.

Dr Barbar said that he invested a considerable amount of money renovating his cosmetic dental practice, but the alley adjacent to the surgery is filthy dirty and the dentist has already had to contact the local press to try and get old sofas and rubbish removed from the site.

Another resident of Bell Alley said that rubbish had been left in the alleyway for weeks on end, which was worrying for health and safety. He added that the area was smelly and dirty and there was a risk of rats appearing as a result of the collection of bin bags and strewn rubbish.

The abandoned furniture was removed by Central Bedfordshire Council but Dr Barbar said that more needs to be done to keep the alleyway tidy, as the area is not only unsightly, which may put prospective patients off, but it may also increases the risk of health hazards.

The alleyway is the responsibility of the Top Bell pub, which is owned by Enterprise Inns. A spokesman for the company said that the publican would be contacted and made aware of the issue.
