Charlotte Church Overjoyed By Hospital Expansion Plans
Charlotte Church expressed her delight at the news that the second phase of building at the Welsh Children’s Hospital is set to begin during a visit to the hospital yesterday.
The Welsh singing sensation was visiting children at the hospital as part of the Noah’s Ark Christmas Stocking Appeal and said that she was surprised but overjoyed at the announcement that work on the second phase of the expansion is set to start. The expansion includes plans for a new dental suite, four new operating theatres and new wards, as well as teaching facilities and new accommodation for parents.
Last week the Welsh Government announced that funding for phase 2 of the expansion had been secured and suggested that work would start on the site as soon as possible. Ministers and Welsh celebrities, including Dame Shirley Bassey, as well as Charlotte Church, said that the development will put Wales on the map and provide children with state of the art healthcare facilities.
Charlotte said that the announcement was “amazing news”; she visits the hospital on a regular basis and is an ambassador for the Noah’s Ark Appeal. During her visit to the hospital yesterday, the singer gave out presents to patients and took time to chat to staff and relatives.
