Carlisle dental practice set for expansion as council planners give the green light

Planning officers at Carlisle City Council have given proposals to expand a local dental practice the green light.

Plans to extend Plumfield Dental practice on Warwick Road were submitted in December last year, and the expansion has now been approved. The move will create five new jobs and enable the practice team to make use of more space on both the first and second floors of the existing premises.

The owners of the practice submitted a change of use application for the first and second floors of the building, which were previously used for residential purposes. Now that planning permission has been granted, the practice will expand, creating new treatment rooms, a staff area and storage facilities. The project will create an extra 208 square metres of usable floor space.

Once work to update the practice has been completed, the team will be able to treat more patients and clients will also benefit from new, state of the art treatment rooms. New members of staff will be joining the clinic in the near future.

The proposal was widely accepted by local residents, with no letters of objection received by the council.
