Dental Nurse Loses Half Her Body Weight Following Cruel Comedy Show Joke
A dental nurse has lost half her body weight after she was singled out at a comedy show.
29 year old dental nurse Amy Gordon weighed 18 stone when she became the butt of a cruel joke while watching a comedian perform with a group of friends in 2012. The comedian was making jokes about fat women and pointed to Amy, who was sat in the second row. She was extremely embarrassed and vowed to do something to lose weight and change her life.
Amy’s confidence was completely shattered after that night out and she wanted to lose weight as quickly as possible. Initially, she tried a number of different diets, often yo-yoing and starving herself. The results were poor, as she often starved and then gorged because she was so hungry and at Christmas time, she weighed the same as when she started dieting. After Christmas, she decided to sign up with Weight Watchers.
The following Christmas, Amy had slimmed down to a size 14 from a size 22 and she felt much more confident. She treated herself to a new hair style and was taking much more interest in the clothes she wore.
Amy learned to cook healthy food and she also invested in a gym membership. This year she has lost another 7lbs and has now reached her happy weight of 9st 7lbs. In the summer, she wore a bikini for the first time and she is thrilled that all the hard work has paid off. She said the reception from patients and colleagues has been amazing and the other day, a patient didn’t recognise her, asking where Amy, the big girl with the dark hair was. Any has vowed to carry on with her healthy eating and exercising and wants to inspire others to do the same.
