Toothbus To Visit Southampton To Provide Free Dental Care For Students

Sample News Big

A mobile dental unit, known as the Toothbus, will be stationed at Southampton University in the coming days to provide free dental care for students.

The Toothbus will be parked at the university on Friday 23rd and Tuesday 27th May and students aged between 18 and 21 years old will be invited to take advantage of free NHS dental check-ups. The unit will be open from 10.30am until 4pm.

The Toothbus is open to all students within the age limit and appointments can be booked in advance; students are also invited to pop in and check-ups will be available without a pre-arranged appointment.

The dental health team will also be taking time out to speak to students about oral health and issues and anyone who has any questions or concerned is invited to pop down and speak to the team.

Dental health can be a concern for many students, as many are registered with dentists at home and lifestyle habits can play a part in contributing to problems, such as decay. The Toothbus is aiming to make treatment accessible and convenient and students can also learn about healthy eating, giving up smoking and the importance of good oral health for good overall health.
