Extraction, graft, implant..
Hi; sorry if these are very common questions on here, just looking for some advice!
I had a front tooth extracted last Thursday and replaced with an immediate denture. However, I am finding it hard to get a handle on what to do next; my dentist seems reluctant to discuss this because she says that the extraction site needs time to heal, but I am keen to find a suitable (and affordable!) dentist to give me an implant. What I find confusing is that the oral surgeon who extracted the tooth said that there had been some bone loss/resorption in the tooth that might make it difficult to install an implant there without a bone graft; so I'm not sure whether I should be waiting to see if the bone recovers (can this even happen?) or should I cut my losses before even further bone loss occurs and seek a graft sooner rather than later? I'm 27 (not sure if my age affects my potential outcomes), so would definately rather seek a permanent solution rather than a long-term denture (the current immediate denture isn't very pleasant to say the least) or a bridge procedure.
(Oh, and finally; is there a very rough price guide available for the graft/implant procedure? I have been quoted around £2000 for the entire process, which is the best price I've found so far)
Many thanks, and sorry again for the long question!

Argh, well, to add a couple of further complications..
A visit to a private dentist confirmed how little bone I've got left at the top/front. It would require an extensive augmentation, costing about £1500 on top of the implant and an overall treatment period of around 9 months.
So I've no idea what to do now. That's a serious amount of money and I now can't help but wonder if a bridge isn't a better long term option (now that I know that the bone is in a bad state anyway and isn't necessarily going to get worse in the next few years; perhaps I'll save up and get it done later).
Any advice?

Hi
As you are aware the options you have are
1. denture
2. fixed bridge
3. bone graft and implant.
There are pros and cons to all forms of treatment. The prices you have been quoted sound right.
Good luck with your decision.Dr Kalpesh Bohara BDS MFDS RCS
