After initially qualifying from Leeds University with a degree in Applied Zoology, Mike applied to Leeds Dental School and graduated in 1982. Mike worked as an associate dentist for one year before opening up his own practice, after which two more Clinics followed over the course of the subsequent two years. Mike now only has one Clinic and he was involved right at the beginning with the design and construction plans for Greenfields House, which is home to Cleveland Cosmetic and Dental Implant Clinic and the Dental Healthcare Centre (for routine Denplan dental care).

Mike developed an avid interest in cosmetic dental treatment in the 1980s and started to provide dental implants in 1992. As the popularity of implants has increased, Mike has become even busier and he now places more than 300 implants per year. Mike receives referrals from all over the country and has established an excellent reputation among colleagues and patients.

In his spare time Mike enjoys travelling, gardening, spending time with his family and attempting to play golf.
