Gill gained degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry, a postgraduate qualification in Oral Pathology and had also spent time working in Forensic Science, before realising a childhood dream and training to be a dental practitioner.

She is a member of the British Dental Association and the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons, regularly attending courses and conferences to ensure that she is abreast with all the latest news and advances in the dental industry and familiar with newer techniques and treatments.

A special interest in Endodontics and pathology means Gill undertakes a number of training courses in these areas. She also accepts referrals for endodontics cases from dentists within Cleveland Cosmetic and Dental Implant Clinic and dentists in the local area. In her spare time Gill works hard to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and is a Governor for the organisation. She used to spend a lot of her leisure time enjoying outdoor pursuits, but she has curtailed this since undergoing hip surgery in 2005. She now prefers to relax and unwind at home and enjoys cruise holidays.
