How much does it cost to do a dental refilling?

Q.
Due to an old filling falling out, but not giving any pain, just a hole,at the base of the tooth. I told the Dentist that I was able to still eat nuts with this tooth! The Dentist gave me a white filling. I rested the new filling for two days. However I am now unable to eat anything using that tooth. I went back to the Dentist complaing about the filling. The Dentist removed some of the top part of the filling incase it was a bit proud. I went back again a few days later with the same problem, he shaved a bit more off the top of the filling. Still no change re eating with this tooth. Could it be that a nerve has been pinched when the filling was done? Can it be put right? Will this be a costly thing? and should I return to the same Dentist or find another local one?

After tooth filling my upper teeth are slightly tilted plz advice?

Hello, I had my first crown installed over a tooth that had broken. I was not in pain, it was a tooth that had been filled years ago. The tooth is a bottom, left, two teeth back from the canine. In any event, I have developed a slight lisp since the installation and it appears that my upper teeth are tilted (with the right side being lower). I went back to the dentist, he said he sees nothing wrong but that he would redo the crown if I wanted. He also offered the explanation of perhaps that perhaps air is now channeling differently through my mouth due to the width of the crown being less??? Is thsi a common occurence?

I had a composite filling which broke off what can i do?

Dr. Moore, A year ago, I had a composite filling put into my front tooth. A few days ago, the bottom part of the tooth broke off in two places and the composite filling from the front remaining part to the top has come out completely; leaving only a thin part of my real tooth behind. Is this tooth salvagable for a crown?

I have sore tooth coz of a filling can u advice me what to do?

Hello, i have been to see my dentist today for a filling and he gave me lots of injections which alot of it went down my throat. My tooth could not be filled as the sucker was making it very sensitive. I am worried now as he says he is goin to refer me what does this mean. I spoke to the receptionist and she was not very customer friendly at all. I couldnt have an x ray as it was diggin in my jaw i know a wimp but she was like i seen people gag and be sick i like that not nice. Long winded sorry just worried they will remove my tooth as it very sore when i eat and that sucker hurt even more which the manager said does not make your teeth sensitive. any advice would be grateful

im suffering from sensitive gumline after restoration plz advice?

Hi, I had a white restoration on a lower right molar today. After having drilled out the bulk of the old filling, my dentist was using an instrument with some force when the inner side of the tooth broke off (I felt it ‘go’ and it flew up into my line of sight). As a result, he “was not able to contour the tooth the way he would have liked to” and (now the anaesthetic has worn off) the restoration feels quite uncomfortably sensitive on the gumline and the tooth has an unnatural shape that seems to trap food when I eat and which feels weird as well. After the procedure, my dentist said that things hadn’t gone as expected and he’d “used an instrument to check how strong the tooth was and sometimes during this procedure, the tooth breaks”. Having thought about this it seems completely counter-intuitive that someone would risk breaking the structure of the tooth as he stated and I’m sceptical that he told me the truth. Is there such an instrument to test the strength of the tooth? My feeling is that it broke while he was using a ‘pick’ to try to break out some old amalgam filling in the drilled cavity. I like my dentist and he’s done really good work for me in the past, but having parted with £170 for this procedure (on top of the other charges for Hygienist Visit, X-Rays and 10 Point Exam the previous day), I suddenly lack trust in him and I’m wondering if I should spend my money elsewhere in future. I appreciate that any answer you might give is nothing more than an opinion and has no legal meaning or weight, but I’d really appreciate your take on this situation as I’m at a loss as to what I should do. Is it normal for cotton wool to be placed in the tooth before filling it?

Is it normal for cotton wool to be placed in the tooth then the filling on top?? as i have just had my tooth out and keept it i scraped out the filling to see how big the hole was and to my suprise at the bottom was a lump of cotton wool could this have cause my infection i had.. waiting your reply

do we require a new filling after i lost the old filling?

I had root canal treatment severeal years ago and now the filling has been lost. My dentists told me that I won’t need a filling, but I can feel the tooth if I tap against it!! Is this normal opr should I have no feeling at all? I am a nervous patient and would like some reassuarnce as I don’t really want to start and then have to stop due to the pain,

What do u recommend for a discolored teeth with a veneer on it?
