After my bridge broke I am considering implants please suggest.

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
I had a bridge spanning a gap of two front teeth attached to one canine and one incisor(think thats what its called middle front top) The bridge broke this week and broke the root of the front incisor and broke the post in half in the canine. My dentist says there is no option but to remove them and have a plate. As I have Sjogrens Syndrome, a dry mouth, I am looking for a different option if possible. I take 7.5mg of prednisolone daily for polymyalgia rheumatica and 150mg monthly of ibandronic acid for my bones to stop osteoporosis. Could I be a candidate for implants? Should implants be put in at extraction or do you wait till its healed? Obviously there is a gap where two have been extracted many years ago which would require implants as well. Advise please as extraction is pencilled in for Thursday next week

I would like to replace my dentures with implants is it possible?

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have full upper dentures, I have had them for years. I am 41, and would like to know if it is possible for me to consider dental implants? I seem to find conflicting advice on the Internet, and I am unsure if it is worth pursuing any further. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Need the cause and solution for my overbite issue?

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
Dear Experts, I have had 2 front teeth replaced by crowns and implants as a result of an accident. Unfortunately there are some discoloring at the top of the crowns where it meet the gumline which is unsightly. What can be done to rectify this? Also, it may sound silly, but it feels as if my teeth are too short and the bite is all wrong. My jaw and jaw muscles gets really sore when I close my mouth, trying to rest the top and bottom jaw on each other. So as a result, trying to compensate for the pain, I try and rest it on the front teeth. Unfortunately, then it creates an uncomfortable, clenching overbite. It is a very uncomfortable and painful situation and I would appreciate advice on how to correct this.

Can I have implants to support two missing teeth?

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr. Moore, I have a dental bridge for a missing teeth for past 18 years (front upper). In order to strenthen the present arraingment and for cosmetic looks I was considering an implant not available as option when I did the bridge. Is it a good idea to replace the missing tooth with implant and using this also to support the two teeth around it (originally used to make the bridge) ? Or what would be the best option. Thank you and Best Regards,

Can my previous bridges be reused?

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
I lost 3 front teeth in an auto accident 16 years ago. At that time the dentist made crowns for adjoining 5 teeth in the form of a bridge. The bridge has now let go due to decay of (what used to be) healthy natural teeth and I am wanting implants. In this day and age of recycling, reusing and renewing, can my bridge not be retro-fitted for the implants??? Alot of $$$ went into them originally, I find it hard to believe that they cannot be reused.

My dentist says bridges may cause infection is this true?

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Q.
My regular dentist does not agree with brdges—he says they put more strain on the surrounding teeth and should infection occur then the whole bridge mudt be destroyed to eliminate the infection. I have a tooth missing which can only be rectfied by a bridge –which other dentists seem happy to provide—should I go for this??

Q.
I have had a root filling and a gold cap put over the tooth. The tooth keeps getting infected and it may be better to have it out. I have a 5 tooth bridge one tooth away form from the cap and if nothing is replaced it could undermine the bridge. Ive been told that a good option is to have an implant but the cost is 2,000 which i cannot afford can it be done chaeper or have you got any suggestions?

My bad teeth is influencing my daily life please suggest on my issues.

Q.
I am wondering what help is available to me. I had to have my top teeth from the canine teeth backwards out 10 years ago due to absesses. Since then I have suffered depression with no confidence and can not form a proper relationship in case anybody finds out that I wear a denture. I have been to a dental hospital who estimated it would cost £30,000 with bone taken from my hip. I have heard of other ways of having implants cheaper without the bone from my hip. Would the NHS be able to contribute because I have suffered with depression for all these years and lost out on 10 years of my life? Every dentist I have gone to have been very unsympathetic and it has come to the point where I can not bear daily life because of this. I think of my teeth 24/7 and it has restricted my life in so many ways. I would be grateful of any advice you can give me or who to go to next. I can not afford to go private Please help.

Does implants not fix a denture with bone loss issues?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
Q.
I am due to begin work for a full upper denture on 17/11 due to the loss of all byt 4 of my upper teeth. This was due to gum disease causing bone loss, passed down from my parents! My dentist tells me that an implant to fix a denture in would not stay put due to bone loss? Is this correct? Glad I found this site, and someone to answer my question, thank you!
