My dentist is giving me a bridge in 6 months can I get I sooner?

Hi, I have had alot of problems with one of my front (at the side a bit) teeth. I have had root canel on it, then it cracked it two. I had the back bit removed and then the filling fell out the rest so the dentist decided to take it out. I got it taken out 4 days ago and had a plate put it immediately due to its location. I have been in pain since….and it doesnt seem to be relenting. I am finding the plate very uncomfortable and struggle to eat!! in fact i know its only been 4 days but i hate the plate, i dont like the poligrip very much but forcing myself to put it on!! but i feel really like i want to gag all the time, its really sore at my tooth, itchy at the top of my mouth and im constantly thirsty! My dentist is giving me a bridge in 6 months time, I was just wondering if there is any reason I have to wait this long? Can i ask for it sooner as I really dont think i can last 6 months with the plate! Also do you have any advice for the plate situation now….I dont want to go back to my dentist as along with all this ive been in and out with wisdom teeth extractions (where my face balloned) and feel that im always there! but toothache is so bad!

Ive a severe gum disease what are the options for me

I have severe gum disease and am currently attending Guys Hospital in London to have deep cleaning done. I have several teeth that are very loose and after a visit to my own dentist he said that I have very little bone left and that I am going to loose several teeth. These are all at the front and I am petrified what are the options for me

Im 23 and am embarrassed with my teeth what can i do?

Hi Dr Moore Im 23 and am extremely embarrased at the state of my teeth. Toward the back I have lost two on the upper jaw, and have lost part of three teeth on the bottom jaw – presumably from caries. There are also small holes in two of my front teeth near the gumline I feel very nervous at the propect of going to see the dentist because I have neglected my oral healthcare, although I do brush regularly now – I was never really promted to during my childhood. I dont where possible want to have any, or many teeth extracted as I dont discuss my oral health with my partner – again, too embarrased as her teeth are great – she is registered with an NHS dentist wheras I am not and have been reluctant to do so because i feel the way i do. What other options are there to retain as many of my current teeth? i understand without an examination its difficult to say, but from a worst case scenario.. I especially do not want to have to wear dentures, so other options would be essential for this. I have done a bit of research into some of the options, but I thought i would pluck up the courage and speak to someone about it. Many thanks,

Will implant help grafting of a bone?

Can my upper lip be tightened?

Hello Was wondering if you can kindly give me advice. I have a short upper lip which means my lips do not meet when I relax & consequently I always show my upper teeth. I have previously had Orthodontic & jaw surgery but my lips still do not meet. Is there a procedure where I can have my top lip lengthened? Are dentures very realistic to the teeth?

HI, 2 YEARS AGO I HAD TO HAVE SOME BOTTOM FRONT TEETH REMOVED DUE TO GUM DISEASE. I HAD THEM REPLACED WITH DENTURES. I HAVE ALSO LOST MOST OF MY GUM AT THE BOTTOM. THE DENTURES ARE NOW QUITE LOOSE AND AS THEY HAVE SETTLED MY TEETH AT EITHER SIDE OF THEM ARE NOW HIGHER, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. MY DENTURES DO NOT HAVE ANY GUM UNDER THE TEETH WHICH MAKES THEM LOOK LIKE FANGS. COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME AS TO WHETHER A DENTIST CAN MAKE FALSE GUM DENTURES WHICH WOULD NOT MAKE MY DISAPPEARING GUM SO VISIBLE WHEN I TALK OR SMILE?
