What Treatment Options Are Best To Straighten My Wonky Front Teeth?

Wednesday, November 6th, 2013
Q.

Hi there, my teeth are all nice and straight except for my two front teeth which are quite on the wonky side and give me a goofy look. I was wondering what would be the best procedure to straighten them? I’m a bit dubious about braces as people I know who have had them have ended up with poor quality teeth afterwards and I’m 25 so may look a bit stupid with braces! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My New Dentures Don’t Fit As Well As My New Ones And Now I Look Goofy, How Can They Be Fixed?

Friday, October 25th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I’ve been wearing a full top denture for about ten years I’ve just had a new set made and they are much longer than my old set and they also protrude slightly so I look a bit goofy. My dentist just said they would take a bit of getting used to, Is there anything that can be done about this please? Also from the side it looks like I’ve got a badly swollen lip and I can’t talk properly. My last set were made at the same practice and they were great, only my family know I wear dentures as they are so good. Now I look like the donkey out of Shrek. This can’t be right can it? Please help.

I Don’t Like My Big Front Teeth, Is There Some Kind Of Financial Plan That Can Help Me Get Them Fixed?

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I’m 27 years old and have big teeth, my top two front teeth are also very forward! Making me look goofy if you like. I hate having my photo taken because they stick out so much and I have really have had enough as it makes me very depressed. I did have a brace that you could take in and out when I was 12 year old but I didn’t wear it! What can be done about this problem? A rough price? Is there some kind of payment plan I can get as this would be preferred.

I Am Ashamed Of My ‘Goofy’ Teeth, Can I Get Veneers On The NHS?

Monday, April 15th, 2013
Q.

I’ve been unhappy with my teeth for 8 nearly 9 years, once I started secondary school I got bullied because of them, the main name i got called was goofy, and now when I show my teeth I place my tongue over them so no one can see them, for many years I’ve been depressed over them. It has severely knocked my confidence but now it has come to the point where I wanna get them sorted and after researching thoroughly it seems veneers are the best way to get them sorted. I’m not the richest of people as i’m on maternity leave. I was wandering if id be able to get the veneers on the NHS?

Why do my children have to wait for upper labial frenum treatment?

Friday, June 1st, 2012
Q.

Hi,
I have two children aged 9 & 6. They have the upper labial frenum which is a genetic disorder that I also had removed at the age of 6 yrs. We have been to an NHS consultation at our local hospital today and the surgeon was adamant that the procedure wasn’t necessary. I told him that i didn’t agree and that if I hadn’t had my frenum removed there was no way my teeth would ever be without the horrible “goofy” style gap. He said that the procedure would only be done at age 14/15. My real issue is not just the medical issues (misaligned bite etc) but also the embarrassment of not being able to smile properly and being teased. These things really are important to teenagers! My father has lived with this problem his whole life and I am determined that this genetic problem will not hinder my kids happiness. What is your advice in this situation..are the NHS giving this tadvise just to save money? thank you

How can I get my ‘goofy’ teeth fixed?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010
Q.
Hello Dr Caplan, I’m coing up to my 42nd birthday and I hate my teeth so very much, I can’t express how unhappy I am about them and always have been. People say I look like the older version of Ester Ranson. I hate smiling, and even when I got married I refused to have any photo’s taken. They are what people would call goofy, it isn’t just the two front teeth, its a few. They are not over lappling a great deal or gapped, But I hate them and at times in the passed I have contemplated hitting them with a hammer, i hate them that much. Please can you or any of your fellow dentists help me, and what sort of cost am I looking at? Many many Thanks.,
